SCALE MONITOR APPLICATION

Recipe weighing with guided activities

Guide users through recipes and activities. Starting the process creates a work order that can combine multiple recipes and repetitions. Read the Scale Monitor recipe weighing instructions.
  • A clear sequence of operator activities
  • Multiple recipes in one work order
  • Targets, tolerances and completed steps at a glance

Recipes include activities as well as ingredients

A recipe consists of activities. Weighing activities specify targets and tolerances; other activities describe subsequent work. Users can follow the complete process and see the next step.

  • Recipe name, identifier and instructions.
  • Activities with settings and operator information.
  • Fixed or flexible step order, depending on configuration.

A work order is created at the start

Starting recipe weighing automatically creates a work order in the background. It links execution to a specific task and allows several recipes within the same order.

  1. Select the recipe or work-order composition.

  2. Specify recipes and repetition counts.

  3. Start execution within the work order.

  4. Follow activities and check targets and tolerances during weighing steps.

  5. Save or confirm each step under the configured rules.

  6. Track progress by activity, recipe and repetition.

Rules help prevent skipped steps

Configure the workflow for your process requirements. Rules guide users through correct execution and confirmation of each activity.

  • Confirm materials with a barcode scanner.
  • Automatically save in-tolerance weighings when enabled.
  • Allow or prevent saving outside tolerance.
  • Automatic taring and a requirement to unload the scale.
  • An information window with activity instructions.

Information for operators and the business

Operators see the current activity, expected mass and execution status. The overview combines recipe, step, target, tolerances and available gross, net and tare values. Execution remains linked to the work order.

Example: repeatable batch preparation

Select recipes and repetition counts in the work order. Operators follow on-screen activities, weigh to target and continue to the next step. Execution remains associated with the order.

A work order contains one or more recipes. Each recipe contains one or more activities. First prepare the recipe and its activities, then create a work order and perform the steps on the weighing screen.

This guide retains the field and button names shown in the application screenshots.

Add a recipe

Open Recipes and click Add. To change an existing recipe, select Edit. Enter the basic information and execution rules in the editor. Click Save, then add activities.

Simplified use: automatic work orders

For users who only need basic recipe weighing, the application supports automatic work order creation. When enabled, selecting a recipe automatically creates a work order containing that recipe. The operator does not have to assemble it manually.

The application also supports automatic recipe selection on opening, so users do not need to select the same recipe each time. If a work order is configured to load at startup, it is selected when the application opens.

Prepare for weighing

Before starting, check the selected recipe, activity, target and tolerances in the table. On the initial screen, the first activity has a blue outline. If using a container, check the tare and net weight before adding material.

Masa, Tara and Bruto

The large display shows the current weight. Tara is the subtracted container weight; Bruto is the total weight on the scale.

LOW / OK / HIGH

LOW means below the lower limit, OK means within tolerance, and HIGH means above the upper limit.

Progress indicator

Shows progress towards the target; the – and + markers indicate the tolerance limits.

SHRANI

Manually saves a weighing result according to the activity and recipe settings.

Tariraj

Perform activities and check tolerances

Add material while monitoring the weight and LOW, OK or HIGH status. Save a result within tolerance using SHRANI, or use automatic saving if enabled. Follow requirements for material confirmation, scale unloading and information instructions.

The table shows the recipe, step, target, T +, T -, gross weight, net weight and tare. The saved flour weight is 402 g (target 400 g, tolerance ±50 g), water is 402 g (target 300 g, tolerance ±80 g), and yeast is 48.5 g (target 50 g, tolerance ±20 g). Compare each result with its permitted range.

Activity sequence

With Fixed order, follow the specified sequence. With Any order, activities can be performed in any sequence.

Colours and saved values

Results within tolerance are green in the screenshot; the water result outside tolerance is red. The blue outline marks the selected row.

Next activity

Check the new target and tolerances before the next weighing activity. Activities such as Mix and Bake in the example complement weighing steps.

Recipe weighing questions and answers

What is recipe weighing in Scale Monitor?

Recipe weighing in Scale Monitor guides the user through the activities of a recipe. During weighing activities, the user follows the target weight and tolerances and reviews execution within a work order.

How are work orders, recipes and activities connected?

A work order can contain multiple recipes, and each recipe can contain multiple activities. Set the number of repetitions for each recipe in the work order.

How do I prepare a recipe for weighing?

In Recipes, click Add, enter the basic recipe information and save it. Then add activities, set their targets, units, tolerances and execution rules, and save the recipe.

Which activity types does a recipe support?

Recipes support five activity types: Weighing, Confirmation, Timer, Dosing and Trigger relay. Choose the type in the Type field of the activity editor.

Do I always need to create a work order manually?

No. When automatic work order creation is enabled, the application creates a work order with the selected recipe after you select it. This supports basic use without assembling a work order manually.

Can a recipe or work order be selected when the application opens?

Yes. The application supports automatic recipe selection when it opens. If a work order is configured to load on startup, it is selected when the application opens.

How do I define the permitted weighing range?

Set Target, Tolerance +, Tolerance - and their units. A target of 400 g with upper and lower tolerances of 50 g gives a permitted range of 350–450 g. LOW means below the lower limit, OK means within tolerance and HIGH means above the upper limit.

Can I save a weighing result outside tolerance?

The activity setting Allow saving outside of tolerance controls this: Yes permits saving outside tolerance and No prevents it. The recipe setting Automatically save weighing in tolerance enables automatic saving within tolerance.

Do activities have to follow a particular sequence?

In Step order, choose Fixed order for a fixed sequence or Any order to perform activities in any sequence.

Where can I review work order progress and results?

In Work orders, use Active or Finished and find the work order with the filters. The eye icon opens details showing activities, save times, gross and net weights, tare, targets and tolerances. The Finished tab alone does not confirm that all activities have been performed; check the progress and work order details.

GOOD TO KNOW

Answers to your questions

Is a work order always created?

Yes. A work order is automatically created in the background when recipe weighing starts.

Can one work order contain multiple recipes?

Yes. A work order can contain several recipes, each with its own repetition count.

Can barcode confirmation of materials be required?

Yes. Recipe configuration can require material confirmation by scanner. We check scanner suitability and your material data.

Does the application work without internet?

Neutron NT runs applications and stores data locally. When connected to the internet, it can be managed from Scale Monitor and automatically sends data to the cloud. After an outage, records synchronise when the connection returns.
