SCALE MONITOR · VIRTUAL PRINTER

A scale printout.
Data for your workflow.

Virtual Printer receives the data a scale or analyser sends through its print command. It stores the report digitally, turns selected fields into a data record and makes the results available for review, Excel export and integration with other systems.

Keep reports digital

Review captured reports in Scale Monitor. Avoid transcribing data from paper.

02

Choose the fields you need

Extract the information required for further processing from the instrument report.

03

Use the data elsewhere

Export to Excel for analysis or use the REST API to integrate with your own system.

From a PRINT command to a useful record

  1. 01

    Connect the instrument

Prepare the scale or analyser connection to Scale Monitor. Consider the model, communication interface and printout format when selecting a connection.

  2. 02

    Capture a sample report

Send a printout from the instrument and review its complete contents. Include the information you intend to process.

  3. 03

    Define the data fields

Select parts of the report and map them to individual fields. Check numbers, units, dates and identification labels carefully.

  4. 04

    Review and use the record

Check the result against several samples. Review captured data, export it to Excel or use it through the REST API.

For weighing results and multi-line reports

Laboratories

Capture scale printouts and moisture analyser reports. Decide which results and identifiers you need when reviewing a sample.

Production

Digitise printouts from weighing stations. Align the required fields with quality control or the production system before introducing the workflow.

Warehouses

Capture results from instruments that produce printouts. Prepare selected data for your records or further processing in your own system.

The report matters as much as the brand

Virtual Printer is intended for instruments that transmit data as printer output. The Scale Monitor page shows a simple RADWAG scale printout and an OHAUS MB120 moisture analyser report. For your model, we check the interface, connection method and actual report contents.

Virtual Printer or ScaleWebLink?

The choice depends on what initiates the exchange and which data you need. We can assess both approaches when planning your connection.

Virtual Printer frequently asked questions

What is a virtual printer for scales?

Virtual Printer is a Scale Monitor feature for digitally capturing printouts from scales and other measuring instruments. You can select report fields for further processing.

Do I need a physical printer?

A physical printer is not required for digital capture with Virtual Printer. The instrument must produce suitable printer output and be connected to Scale Monitor.

Does it support moisture analysers?

Yes, moisture analyser reports are a supported use case. The Scale Monitor page shows an OHAUS MB120 example; we check your model using an actual sample printout.

Can we export the data to Excel?

Yes. You can manually export captured data to an Excel file for analysis, review or further processing.

How do we connect the data to ERP or another application?

Scale Monitor supports integration through its REST API. Define the fields, target system and processing requirements for your application when planning the integration.

Is every scale automatically compatible?

We check compatibility against the communication interface, connection and report format. Please provide the exact model and a complete printout sample.

How does Virtual Printer differ from ScaleWebLink?

Virtual Printer captures reports sent by an instrument. ScaleWebLink lets your application send a request or supported scale command and receive a response.

Show us your instrument's printout.

Send the instrument model, a sample report and the fields you need. Together we can define the capture method and the next integration step.
