When weighing data is needed in several places, manual copying slows work and increases the chance of errors. OPC UA connects the weighing station to the system that uses its data: a control-room display, a production record or your own application.

Manufacturers, machine builders, integrators, automation teams and IT specialists. It is particularly useful where a PLC, SCADA, MES or PC application already supports an OPC UA client.

Use measured weight to check products or packages. Your system compares it with the target and tolerances, then retrieves a stable result for the inspection record.

OPC UA and cloud – together, without choosing
Neutron supports simultaneous OPC UA and Scale Monitor Cloud connections. The local PLC or SCADA uses weighing data for your process, while free Scale Monitor Cloud provides ongoing remote device monitoring and settings management whenever an internet connection is available.
Combine on-site automation with remote supervision and support. Using OPC UA does not mean giving up cloud capabilities.
Compact NS fits into your equipment
The compact Neutron NS is easy to integrate into a control cabinet, scale housing, diverter or other machinery. Connect weighing to control systems and the cloud without installing a separate touchscreen terminal beside the equipment.
One example is the FKN floor scale with integrated Neutron NS: the weighing electronics are built into the scale and data is available to the connected system.
What does Neutron support?
- Live weighing data: gross, net and tare weight, high-resolution gross weight, stability, status, error code, unit and ADC value.
- Consistent measurements: read a combined data snapshot with ReadMeasurement, or capture stable weight with CaptureStableWeight and retrieve it through GetCapturedMeasurement.
- Scale control: tare, preset tare, zero, clear tare and filter settings, according to the assigned permissions.
- Information model: named nodes and methods, with a NodeSet2 XML model for integration tools.
Connections with or without encryption
Neutron supports encrypted Basic256Sha256 / SignAndEncrypt connections with a username, password and trusted application certificates. An unprotected None / Anonymous mode is also available. Configure the connection mode and user permissions to match your network requirements.
The features described apply to Neutron firmware 2.5.0 with OPC UA support. Use the local OPC UA connection on its own or simultaneously with Scale Monitor.
